By July 14, 2014 August 9th, 2019 No Comments

Rumors persist of a community where He is absent. If such a place exists, what are you willing to risk getting there? You left your home with what you could carry, hoping to barter your way into this seemingly idyllic community. But what comes next?

Join US for a one-of-a-kind LARP!

Accidental Cyclops is pleased to host a first-of-its-kind Curse the Darkness LARP at GenCon 2014. This event is intended to be a self-contained story, full of great role-play, intrigue, personal horror and of course, fun! This event is an experiment, both with the setting of Curse the Darkness as a LARP, and also with Fate being adapted to a LARP system.

We have to give a big shout-out to Curse the Darkness designer, Matt McFarland at Growling Door Games, for supporting this endeavor. He’ll be making an appearance and rumor has it he will be bringing along some swag! Follow Matt on Twitter, here, and be sure to tell him how awesome his support for the event is.

Additionally, Rob Wieland, a fellow game designer, will be running a Curse the Darkness table-top RPG, which will dovetail with our LARP. Check out his event here (sorry, all full!).

The Story: A light at the top of the mountain

You and your compatriots have traveled to a remote military installation, following rumors that its inhabitants have found a way around His rules. Unconfirmed stories of this place indicate that the residents host some form of political and philosophical discourse, and that they have escaped the notice of Him and Them.

If the rumors are true, this could be exactly the opportunity that you have sought for years. The relief that comes from just the thought of not living under His shadow is enough to melt away your stress. In fact, you can’t remember the last time you felt this much hope. Even your dreams have been happy…

You left your home, as hollow as that word has become, with what you could carry, hoping to barter your way into this seemingly idyllic community. But you are no fool… you know that you will need to investigate and observe before committing. You also know that nowhere is safe, not anymore. Read more about the story and setting >>
